What was new in 2004
Brewery Shop Saturday Tastings
During 2004 The Brewery Shop saw a number of Wine Tastings between
11am and 3pm with approximately
4 wines featured on any particular day. These proved very popular
with many customers familiarising themselves with the excellent growing
portfolio in the shop in Lewes. The tastings happened approximately
every 3 weeks and the feed back to the Wine Team proved invaluable.

Laurus
Dinner
Harveys were delighted to welcome Gabriel Meffre's Anthony Taylor
Sommelier and Director for a
weekend in September. Anthony was the Guest Speaker at 2 special 6
Course Meal with matching
Rhone Wines. This was the 4th Dinner with matching wines held at the
John Harvey Tavern and these
continued throughout 2005.

Olympic
Greek Selection
Harveys selected a range of Greek wines to run as
a promotion during the Olympic games. There is quite a range with
native Greek grape varieties offering some contrasting flavours. The
wines included a Moscophilero, Retsina, Nemea, Mavrodaphne and Vin
Santo. Harveys popular Wine Of The Month scheme for the pubs was also
Greek during the games.

Ramos
Pinto Port
Harveys weredelighted to import some excellent ports and wines from
Ramos Pinto and developed this relationship throughout 2005. Ramos
Pinto have been producing ports since 1880 when Adriano Ramos Pinto
founded the company. They exported a large quantity to the Brazilian
market and are known for their innovative and enterprising strategy.
